Embracing Mediocrity: A Realistic Pathway to Happiness
After a life time of unremarkable, ordinariness, I obtained my DM (Doctorate of Mediocrity) in coffee shop philosophy here in Boulder and pioneered nonscientific research in unavoidable human averageness. Many are frustrated with the long held notion that hard work equals success and achievement which leads to rewards that in turn bring happiness in the modern world. I will present exciting, unsubstantiated - yet not entirely fabricated - data, research and statistical analysis that shows why the popular success/achievement world view is so prevalent despite its ineffectiveness AND how embracing our own inevitable mediocrity will inspire a new freedom, passion and happiness in everyday life. Let me share this exciting, senseless drivel with you!
Speaking at Ignite Boulder 10! http://igniteboulder.com/ for tickets to the May 6th event.
